One moment a 9 year old girl was sitting on a third floor window sill, the next instant we was lying in extreme pain on the pavement 25-30 feet below.
Lincoln City Police were called the Inn at Wecoma this morning on a report that a young girl was lying on the asphalt three stories down from her parent’s room. Police arrived to find her mother already putting a blanket on her daughter. Arriving paramedics quickly determined that the girl had suffered severe trauma which included an obviously fractured leg.
Upon arrival at North Lincoln Hospital, the emergency room doctor immediately ordered her to be transferred to a trauma center in Portland.
According to police the girl was sitting on the inside ledge talking with her mother. Her mother said her daughter leaned toward the screen which gave way, allowing her to fall out the window and onto the parking lot below. Upon arrival, police say the girl was alert and talking but obviously in great pain.
No word on how she’s doing at the Portland trauma center. She and her parents were vacationing in Lincoln City. They’re from Houston, TX.
