Disabled Vets Honored with Fishing Excursion
The Toledo Elks Lodge #1664 recently treated 18 Veterans to a bottom fishing trip and lunch afterward. Trisha Daniel, Toledo Lodge’s Veteran’s and Americanism chairperson, organized the trip with the help of Elk member Gene Stump who works on the charter boat Kadaho out of Depoe Bay.
The Vets, representing WWII, Korean War, Vietnam War and Iraq/Kuwait conflicts, started the day early and fished for 5 hours before being provided lunch at Mazatlan in Depoe Bay. The trip was made possible through a Freedom Grant provided by the Elks National Veteran’s Service Commission.
