Science of the Sea at Lincoln County Libraries
Science of the Sea featured at Lincoln County Libraries
Lincoln County’s public libraries’ Fizz, Boom, Read! summer reading programs are all about science this summer. This week, science of the sea is presented by the experts from the Oregon Coast Aquarium Wednesday and Thursday, July 9 & 10. All children and families are invited to attend one of these free programs.
Wednesday, July 9, Aquarium educators will be at Waldport Public Library (10 a.m.), Newport Public Library (1 p.m.), and Driftwood Public Library in Lincoln City (6:30 p.m.). On Thursday, June 19, they will be at Siletz Public Library (1:00 p.m.). Toledo Public Library’s 11 a.m. show on Thursday features “Fizz, Boom, Art!” with SolaLuna’s Sara Gayle Plourde.
“It is only right that our children learn as much about the ocean as possible,” says Rebecca Cohen, Youth Services Manager at Newport Public Library, “and we have such an incredible and generous resource for doing just that with the staff at Oregon Coast Aquarium. It’s been four years since we’ve had a program with the Aquarium so the children are really looking forward to learning from its outstanding educators.”
The Oregon Coast Aquarium website, http://aquarium.org/, has more information about the many wondrous things families can do there.
