WAVE ENERGY TOPIC AT SURFRIDER MEETING
The Newport Chapter of the Surfrider Foundation will have its monthly meeting on Thursday, May 15, at 6:30 at the Newport Visual Arts Center on the Nye Beach Turnaround.
Kaety Hildenbrand will be the program. Hildenbrand is a marine fisheries extension agent for the OSU Sea Grant Extension program. She works coast wide on a variety of issues from sea safety to marine renewable energy. She will be discussing current ocean energy projects in Oregon, including OSU’s Wave Energy testing and research projects.
Surfrider meetings are open to the public, and everyone interested in this timely topic is encouraged to attend. The Surfrider Foundation works for the protection and enjoyment of oceans, waves, and beaches through an activist network that acts on local issues. For more information, see newportsurfrider.org.
