Newport Fire Rescue and law enforcement are now on scene. Coast Guard is also coming on scene to join the search.
Coast Guard North Bend has launched a helo to join the search. Last word has the missing woman 300 yards south of the South Jetty – around sundown.
Searchers are fanning out on local trails to see if she may have fallen or passed out. She was reported to be highly intoxicated at the time she was last seen.
Missing woman has been found at South Beach State Park. She’s out of the water. She’s still intoxicated but otherwise fine. At hearing the news, her husband broke into sobs, being held up by his friends, so relieved his wife had been found.
The woman, said to be working for the carnival for the Loyalty Days Weekend, is from California. She was taken by PacWest Ambulance to PCH to be checked out.
