OREGON COAST COMMUNITY COLLEGE TO HOST COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT SESSIONS WITH SENATOR ROBLAN ON MAY 6th
On Tuesday, May 6, the public is invited to meet with Oregon Coast State Senator Senator Arnie Roblan at Oregon Coast Community College (OCCC) located in Waldport, Newport and Lincoln City. Senator Roblan will provide a summary of the 77th legislative session and insights into state priorities for the upcoming 2015-2017 biennium.
The OCCC-Waldport facility will host Roban from 10:00-11:30, followed by a session at the OCCC-Newport (Community Room) from 12:00-1:30. The day will end with a community engagement session at the OCCC-Lincoln City location from 3:00-4:30.
During the 77th Oregon Legislative Session, Roblan chaired the committee on Rural Communities and Economic Development, and also served on three additional committees; Education and Workforce Development, Judiciary and the Joint Committee on Public Safety. Roblan is committed to advancing: the creation of good jobs in our communities, retaining the good jobs we have, supporting our schools and the education of our children, and protecting and caring for our most vulnerable.
During the past two legislative sessions, Roblan and Representative David Gomberg (D-House District 10) provided the community with legislative up-dates via the College’s two-way video conferencing system.
In 2011, the Oregon Business Association named Sen. Roblan Statesman of the Year Award in recognition of his extraordinary achievements for public service, consensus building, and forging collaborative solutions to critical issues facing Oregon.
