When Oregon State Police SWAT stormed a house on NW Quay Street in Lincoln City last week, they apprehended only one of two men they were looking for. Inside the house was Samuel Fajaro Landa, 23 who they took into custody on a number of drug and weapons charges.
But the other suspect they hoped to apprehend, Selvin Fajardo, 21, was not there. But it wasn’t long before they caught up with him, and now he too is in the Lincoln County Jail.
At about 3:50 PM Thursday, Lincoln City Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation in 3200 block of SE Highway 101. When the vehicle stopped, a male passenger, who was recognized by the officer to be Selvin Fajardo, fled from the vehicle westbound across Highway 101. The officer pursued Fajardo a short distance until Fajardo entered a thick wooded area.
Other Lincoln City Police Officers, along with Deputies from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office arrived in the area and began searching the residential neighborhood for Fajardo. Officers learned from a citizen that a male subject was seen jumping over a fence and took off running westbound. After a brief search of the neighborhood, officers and deputies located Fajardo hiding in thick brush behind a home located in the 3000 block of SW Beach Street. Fajardo was immediately taken into custody.
Fajardo was transported to the Lincoln County Jail and lodged on charges of Assault II, Assault III, Unlawful use of a weapon, Escape III, and Disorderly Conduct. His bail was set at $300,000.00 dollars.
