Newport Clerk Recorder Peggy Hawker swore in the latest addition to the Newport Police Department Monday night, now police officer Lance Cummings. Cummings is a veteran law enforcement professional from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office who decided he’d like his patrol beats closer to home.
Cummings is married to Tracey and has two grown children, Lauryn Morford and Logan Cummings. Making the move to Newport PD a little sweeter is the fact that Lance and Tracey are celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary today, Tuesday.
So congratulations on both fine accomplishments.
