Sounds like a false alarm. From Lincoln City vantage point one person says it looks like a bright crab boat light just offshore.

Depoe Bay firefighters are enroute to a report of a fire on Salishan Drive out the spit. It was not reported as a structure but some other kind of fire.
Caller reported on the south 101 pullout in Taft that they looked across at the Salishan Spit and saw a large orange glow and a lot of smoke.
