Yaquina Head Lighthouse closed Monday through Saturday next week
Yaquina Head Lighthouse Closed for Annual Maintenance:
March 31 through April 5
Newport, Ore.— The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) at Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area, will close the historic Yaquina Head Lighthouse to the public from Monday, March 31 through Saturday, April 5. The Lighthouse will re-open on April 6th.
The Lighthouse staircase and interior walls will receive a new coat of paint. The Yaquina Interpretive Center will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. All other areas of the park will be open from 8:00 a.m. to dusk.
Ranger-led tours of the historic lighthouse will resume on Sunday, April 6. A limit of 16 visitors per tour applies. Passes for the tours are available on a first-come, first-serve basis and must be reserved in person at the Yaquina Head Interpretive Center no earlier than 10:00 a.m. on the day of the tour. Tours are scheduled at noon, 1:00, 2:00 and 3:00 p.m., on Thursday through Tuesday. No tours are offered on Wednesdays
