NEWPORT CITY COUNCIL TO HOLD TOWN HALL MEETING AT THE NEWPORT PUBLIC LIBRARY
The Newport City Council will hold a Town Hall Meeting for residents, business
owners, and other interested persons on March 31, 2014, at 6:00 P.M., at the Newport
Public Library. The meeting will be held in the Library’s McEntee Room, 35 NW Nye Street, Newport.
The agenda for this meeting includes an update on the Library’s recently concluded
strategic plan and building analysis. Ruth Metz, and her team from Ruth Metz Associates,
completed a full building analysis of the Library and conducted a variety of focus groups,
individual interviews, and large group meetings to guide the production of the Library’s
2014-2019 Strategic Plan. Metz and Library staff will be available to answer questions.
The City Council schedules Town Hall Meetings throughout the city during months that contain a fifth Monday. The meetings give people interested in the neighborhood an opportunity to talk with Council in an informal setting about issues affecting their individual neighborhood. Everyone is invited to attend.
