Newport, OR – The Celtic Heritage Alliance is seeking volunteers to help with their Celtic cultural events and outreach activities on the Oregon coast. The Alliance will be hosting a free volunteer recruitment seminar for persons who are interested in volunteering for the upcoming Newport Celtic Festival & Highland Games slated for June 13, 14 & 15, 2014.
If you are selective about where to dedicate your time and talents; make the most of it through non-profit volunteer work that is fun and rewarding. This is a great opportunity for youth or community groups, retired professionals, college students seeking experience, and those who wish to learn new or build upon existing skills between jobs. You do not need to live locally or have Celtic heritage to apply.
The Celtic Heritage Alliance is a 501(c) 3 charitable non-profit organization whose mission is to promote and preserve Celtic culture on the Oregon coast through creation and development of Celtic cultural events, activities, and programs which facilitate education, workshops, musical performances and traditional competitions which include athletics, music and dance. Because CHA’s mission encompasses arts, culture, and humanities, they are also members of the Oregon Cultural Trust.
Interested parties are encouraged to join CHA’s upcoming free seminar which will be held on Wednesday, April 9th from 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm at the Newport Public Library’s McEntee Meeting Room located at 35 NW Nye Street in Newport.
Volunteers will be given an overview of CHA’s activities, an orientation, and will be able to meet with current and past volunteers. For those who join, subsequent mentoring meetings will be held between now and the June festival.
