News Release from Lincoln City Police
LCPD Update: The identity of the man found lying on the stairs at the rear of The Dorchester House Wednesday morning has been released. He was Thomas Cornish, 76, a resident of the senior assisted living facility.
On March 5th, 2014, at about 8:05 AM, Lincoln City Police responded to the Dorchester House Retirement Home located at 2701 NW Hwy 101 in Lincoln City on a report of a person lying on the steps outside the building who appeared to be deceased.
Lincoln City Police Officers and medical personnel from Pacific West Ambulance arrived at the location and found an elderly male lying on the concrete walkway in the back courtyard area of the retirement home facility. The elderly male was deceased when officers and medical personnel arrived. Due to the unknown circumstance involving the elderly man’s death, detectives from the Lincoln City Police Department responded and began conducting an investigation.
At this time the investigation remains open, however foul play is not suspected and there appears to be no danger to the community. The cause of death will be determined by the medical examiner’s office. The name of the deceased male is being withheld pending the notification of next of kin.
