Going boating? All Oregon recreational boaters operating a powerboat with 10 horsepower or more are required to carry a Boater Education Card showing they have completed a basic boating safety class.
Volunteer instructors from USCG Auxiliary Flotilla 54 Yaquina Bay are offering the Boat Oregon class on Saturday, March 8th at the Port of Newport Marina and RV Park office building.
The Boat Oregon class is appropriate for boaters 12 and older, and families are encouraged to attend. Students passing the course with a 70% score or more will be presented with a Certificate of Completion and an application to apply for their Boater’s Safety Card from the Oregon State Marine Board. The card, laminated and issued by the OSMB, is good for life.
The registration fee is $15.00 per person, which includes lunch and all materials needed to attend and complete the course. To register, call Bev Divis at 541-867-6788; or email at firstname.lastname@example.org
