Willamette Writers Coast Branch Welcomes Monica Drake
As part of the ongoing Writers on Writing series offered by the Coast Chapter of Willamette Writers, author Monica Drake will offer a fiction-writing workshop. The event takes place from 2:00 to 4:00 pm on Sunday, February 16th, in the Newport Public Library’s McEntee meeting room, 35 NW Nye Street in Newport. The event is free and open to the public.
Monica Drake is the author of the award winning indie novel, Clown Girl. Her most recent novel is The Stud Book. Her stories and essays have been in print and on-line at places such as Oregon Humanities Magazine, Northwest Review, The Rumpus, Paris Review Daily and others. She is the head of the newly launched BFA in Writing at the Pacific Northwest College of Art in Portland, Oregon.
Willamette Writers is the largest writers’ organization in Oregon and one of the largest writers’ organizations in the United States. Willamette Writers’ goal is to provide and encourage a creative environment and support system for current and aspiring writers.
