Siletz Tribes donation makes Salem video conferences available, north and south county.
During the last legislative session, Oregon Coast Community College provided regular live video conferences with Rep. David Gomberg and Sen. Arnie Roblan, direct between Newport and Salem. These events proved a powerful way to connect voters and local officials with their representatives in Salem while proposed laws and rule changes were being debated. It was such a success that the idea was raised to wire up the college’s Lincoln City campus. And so they did!
Oregon Coast Community College, thanks to generous financial support from the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians and Chinook Winds Casino Resort, the Lincoln City OCCC campus will join these video conferences live during this special legislative session. And again any and all Lincoln City-area residents are invited to attend.
The Wednesday evening conferences start at 5:15 p.m. on Feb. 12 and Feb. 26.
The Lincoln City campus is located at 3788 SE High School Drive in Lincoln City. OCCC’s Newport Campus is located off Highway 101 at 42nd. Turn east on 42 and take the road all the way around to the campus up on the hill.
Questions may be posed to our lawmakers live and in person on camera, or submitted in advance. To do so, simply email firstname.lastname@example.org by 5 p.m. the Friday before the conference.
Refreshments will be available for both of the February video conference sessions in Lincoln City and Newport.
