Big News about Community Services in South Lincoln County
South Lincoln Resources, Waldport Food Share, Adventist Clothing Share, and South County Needy Children’s Christmas Program have a new place to call home:TOGETHER! Plus, Central Coast Fire & Rescue will have improved storage of emergency supplies and access to the other program supplies as may be needed following a natural disaster. This has been the Building & Sharing Resources Project’s objective for the last seven and a half years.
All of these groups are excitedly thankful for everyone’s support. A tremendous dinner and auction by the Yachats Ladies Club, Lincoln County Community and Economic Development grants and hundreds of individual contributions plus the support of local groups, clubs, businesses and media and garage sales and golf tournaments, are all tribute to a community that shares because they care.
The groups are now working together to prepare the site and buildings for moving in. Parking lot repair, heat for food share and clothing share, lighting, a wall, door repairs, some flooring and paint are some of the things on the to-do list. They will also tune-up the programs, making some improvements to provide even better service in our community.
The Building & Sharing Resources Project chairman, Tonner Hays, thanks everyone who contributed time, expertise and money and is grateful for everyone who talked with friends and neighbors about the project as these conversations spread the base of support.
