Washington State going “at it” over counties saying NO to legal marijuana sales
In what may be an example as to what could happen in Oregon should voters this November also approve recreational marijuana in the Beaver State, many Washington State county and city leaders are fighting any effort to establish marijuana sales outlets within their jurisdictions. Their legal weapon is that they say, despite the voters approving recreational sales, they have the right to deny sales of anything that the federal government deems illegal. And Uncle Sam outlaws marijuana – although the current U.S. Attorney General has all but said he’ll turn a blind eye to any recreational marijuana use as long as it doesn’t directly feed and support illegal drug grows and sales.
