Lastest figures show that food stamp useage has grown dramatically over the last few years among formerly employed families. Across America, 15% of our fellow citizens are on food stamps – men, women and children. That’s 1 in every 7 persons you pass on the street.
Even as the New York Stock Exchange rises higher and higher with each closing bell, the ongoing economic crisis in the country continues to rack up victims. It’s due, in no small way, to the fact that the new jobs coming in don’t reflect the skill sets of those who lost their old jobs going out. Literally there is a huge shift in new worker skill sets that have disempowered hundreds of thousands, if not millions of American families. But with the price of college so high, even for vocational training schools, many families are literally dead in the water and facing prospects of long term low wages and heavy competition for what jobs there are.
