OREGON COAST CHAMBER MUSIC SOCIETY
Well-known narrator Edmund Stone from All Classical FM and popular collaborative pianist Cary Lewis will perform a “Melodrama Medley” of music and poetry for the next OCCMS concert on Saturday, February 8 at 3:00PM in a charming ocean-view home on the north end of Depoe Bay near Lincoln Beach. Their selections include the “Pied Piper of Hamelin” by Robert Browning, “The Raven” by Edgar Allen Poe, “The Fisherman and the Fish” by Pushkin, and “Don Quixote” with music by a young Erich Korngold.

Edmund Stone began his career as a teenager in theater for youth in England before moving to Scotland where he became a film correspondent for BBC Radio and Thompson Publications. In 1980 he moved to Hollywood where he covered the Academy Awards and interviewed celebrities such as Alfred Hitchcock. He also narrated over 1,000 educational audios in his rich voice. He now hosts All Classical FM programs on weekend afternoons and evenings. In 2006 Edmund created “The Score,” a nationally and internationally syndicated film music program which hen writes, produces, and hosts. He enjoys emceeing events and classical orchestras and narrating with orchestras.

Cary Lewis has been in demand as a collaborative pianist for soloists and chamber music groups since the beginning of his career. Together with cellist Dorothy Lewis and violinist William Preucil, he received acclaim as a member of the Lanier Trio throughout the U.S. and Europe. Lewis was a Fulbright scholar for two years in Vienna. He has performed at Carnegie Hall, the Library of congress, the White House, and Wigmore Hall in London. In addition, Lewis has made approximately 36 recordings on 11 labels and has performed in music festivals around the world. He is still a frequent guest in festivals and chamber groups and contributes to the annual Astoria Festival on a regular basis.
