Early Friday morning the main circulation pump for the Toledo Swimming Pool failed. This part is vital to maintain the chemistry, clarity and temperature of the pool water. The Toledo Public Works Department worked with Pool staff to troubleshoot the problem.
It was determined that the existing pump is extensively damaged and the best course of action is to replace the pump and ancillary parts. Staff has started investigating solutions to the problem and expect to have an idea early next week regarding repairs.
There is no clear timeline for the repairs due to limited availability of the replacement parts. Updates to the public will be posted on the door of the pool, the phone greeting system and on the Pool’s Facebook page (Toledo Swimming Pool). As the timeline for repairs is more clearly defined, staff will reschedule classes and programs and determine how current pool passes will be credited.
