As the flu works its way through the population hammering many victims in the process, Samaritan Health Hospitals are taking steps to help ensure newborns and their mother’s aren’t infected by visitors to the hospitals.
Beginning January 13th (next Monday) each new mom and baby will be allowed a TOTAL of four visitors during their hospital stay. FOUR TOTAL over the ENTIRE stay – and NO CHILD UNDER THE AGE OF 12 unless they are a healthy sibling of a newborn or pediatric patient and they must not show any symptoms of the flu. The restrictions are for the benefit of mom and baby AND HOSPITAL STAFF.
Ways to avoid getting the flu or spreading the flu are:
* Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or upper sleeve.
