“FIELD OF DREAMS” TO BE SHOWN AT THE NEWPORT PUBLIC LIBRARY
“Field of Dreams” will be the featured Literary Flick movie at the Newport Public Library on Tuesday, January 14, at 6:30 p.m.
Field of Dreams, a film from 1989, is based on W.P. Kinsella’s novel, Shoeless Joe. Kevin Costner stars as as Ray Kinsella, a Midwestern farmer who listens to a mysterious voice in his head and builds a baseball diamond in his cornfield. James Earl Jones plays Terence Mann, a reclusive writer, and Ray Liotta is Shoeless Joe Jackson, a disgraced, legendary baseball player. This heartwarming film was nominated for three Academy Awards: Best Picture, Best Adapted Screenplay, and Best Original Score; and for Saturn and Hugo Awards.
