Newport, Oregon- Tickets are now available for “Hats Off to Samaritan House”, the Samaritan House Benefit Afternoon Tea planned for Saturday January 25 at the First Presbyterian Church, Newport. This year will feature a hat contest for the most creative large and small hats and the best vintage hat. Tickets can be purchased for $20.00 from Samaritan House Family Shelter, 715 SW Bay St., Newport and the Newport TLC Federal Credit Union.
As in previous years, a quilted wall hanging made by Virginia Fisher will be raffled off at the end of the event. The wall hanging features a quilted interpretation of a watercolor painting by Kate Markham, of Newport, created for the Tea. Truly a beautiful scene in both mediums!
New this year will be a raffle tickets for a completely furnished doll house donated by Caro Somers. Raffle tickets for the doll house are on sale now and cost $2.00 each. Also new will be a photography booth to benefit My Sister’s Place for remembering the fun of the afternoon with friends.
Attendees will enjoy soft jazz music from the Bad Lee Bent Trio, featuring Samaritan House Board Member Barbara LePine.
