Lincoln City, OR – An Agate & Fossil Hunting Field Trip will be led by Oregon fossil expert Guy DiTorrice on January 12th at 1:00pm in Lincoln City. This awesome free expedition is sponsored by the Lincoln City Visitor & Convention Bureau and the Oregon Coast Agate Club and is free of charge to all interested.
Participants will meet at D-River Wayside State Park beach access on Highway 101 in the center of Lincoln City at 1:00pm. Rubber boots are recommended to cross streams of water. The beaches visited during the field trip depends on the local gravel bed conditions found that day.
Guy DiTorrice is known to the rock-hunting world as the “Oregon Fossil Guy.” He, along with K.T. Myers, an Oregon Coast agate expert and author of the pocket guide “Agates of the Oregon Coast,” will lead beachcombing enthusiasts on a hands-on journey through the world of fossil and agate hunting. Winter is the perfect time to hunt for fossils and agates on the Oregon Coast, so don’t miss your chance to learn the art of the hunt from experts with years of experience and a wealth of rock-solid knowledge!
