Oregon/Washington coal export plans appear to be cooling due to volatile Asian markets
With so much emphasis now on improving air quality in China and other heavily urbanized countries, not to mention global warmoing, the volume and the quality of coal shipped to them is starting to look soft to long-term investors. And for that there are some gloomy forecasts coming out for any effort to turn the Pacific Northwest into a regularly sufficient profitable outlet for Asian coal markets.
