Kitzhaber: Growing jobs, but being filled by non-Oregonians, middle class still eroding
Governor Kitzhaber told the Oregon Leadership Summit in Portland Monday that while Oregon is adding jobs to its recovering economy, many of them are being filled by out of state applicants. Another troubling factor; Oregon’s middle class is eroding – income is following a national trend of flowing upward to the already well off instead of helping to expand the economy and consumer spending.
