A Dickens Christmas coming up December 14th in Toledo. Not to be missed! Nor 1st Weekend in December Arts Event!
Likely from Judy Gibbons –
Who is that “Dickens-like” character standing in front of his 1887 Old Church art studio in Toledo? Michael Gibbons is ready for the “Toledo Dickens of a Christmas celebration” on December 14 where it is hoped Tiny Tim and possibly even old Scrooge will make an appearance around town. Join Michael and Judy along with crowds of revelers thronging to see the train show, the shops and special entertainment and last but not least, the Christmas Tree aglow!
Gibbons is celebrating his 70th, yes 70th birthday this December and he invites you to stop in to have birthday cake with him at 1st Weekend Toledo Art Saturday, December 7, from 11:am-5:00pm and Sunday Noon to 5:00pm at the Old Vicarage Gallery, 140 Alder Street in the Uptown Arts District.
The 1926 Vicarage is decorated for the holidays and ready for visitors. Check out the gallery display window featuring a snowy painting done by Michael on the Olympic Peninsula and the hand-made porcelain Fr. Christmas doll (by Maxine Moodie). Michael made Channel 7 KIRO News, Seattle when a camera crew happened upon him standing in the snow making the painting.
As the featured artist for December 1st Weekend (participants take turns for the honor) Michael is showing new work from his recent trips as Juror and Celebrity artist in California. Seascapes and landscapes in oil, Giclee prints, limited and open edition prints as well as cards and art mugs are in his gallery for your Christmas receiving and giving. Merrrrry Christmas to all!
