Around Waldport, the first step toward any worthy goal usually starts with a fundraiser at the Waldport Moose Lodge in the middle of town. And this time, it’s no different.
Those who want to re-institute American Softball Association play in Waldport are kicking off their drive with a fundraiser at the Waldport Moose Lodge this Friday at 5pm. It’s a big taco feed for any and all who come and pay a little something at the door.
In addition to the fabulous taco feed there will be a cake walk, raffles and a silent auction with live music starting at around 9pm.
ASA boosters say they’ve already signed up four softball teams with more to come. They say they’ve got the new fields at the high school already in their sights and expect to begin play this April.
ASA softball is targeted primarily at kids age 10 to 16 years of age.
So head down to the Waldport Moose Lodge Friday night, 5pm, for a great taco feed and help get ASA softball re-instated in Waldport. Boosters say when things are up and running over the next couple of years, they’ll be able to launch new regional tournaments that will help boost visitorship to the Waldport area.
Makin’ money on hometown sports. Who’d a thunk it!?
