LINCOLN CITY CULTURAL CENTER: FREE ‘WINTER WONDERLAND’ CONCERT ON DEC. 7 FEATURES NAOMI HOOLEY AND ROB STROUP
LINCOLN CITY – The Lincoln City Cultural Center has announced a free and festive concert, set for Saturday, Dec. 7. The featured act is the duo of singer-songwriter-pianist Naomi Hooley (Moody Little Sister) and guitar-vocalist Rob Stroup (Baseboard Heaters, The Imprints), performing seasonal songs and Americana pop-rock live on the LCCC stage starting at 7 pm. Doors will open at 6:30 at the LCCC, 540 NE Hwy. 101, in Lincoln City.
The LCCC will provide free cider and cookies, and welcome the crowd in for a new Orphan Art & Collectibles Silent Auction. At this low-key amusement, attendees are welcome to adopt a piece of wall art, a collectible doll, a gift certificate or another unusual item from the center’s storehouse of donations. There will also be envelopes for monetary donations to the Lincoln City Cultural Center, boxes for non-perishable donations for the Lincoln City Food Pantry, and bins for the Firefighters Toy Drive.
“Thanks to Naomi and Rob, who are donating their time, and lodging sponsor D Sands Motel, we are able to offer this concert absolutely free of charge,” said Niki Price, LCCC director. “Give something back if you can, but if you can’t, please come anyway. Accept this gift from all of us, and have a very merry Christmas. We’ll see you at 6:30 pm on Saturday.”
Hooley (“It Was A Great October”) and 8 Ball Studio founder and producer Stroup (Rob Stroup and The Blame) are audience favorites at popular venues and concert halls throughout Oregon and Washington, both with their individual bands and as a duo. They are donating their time, to offer this free concert to the Lincoln City community, as part of an extended Northwest tour. They’re playing 10 shows in seven different cities in the 25 days before Christmas while releasing their brand new Holiday Album, “Naomi Hooley & Rob Stroup’s Winter Wonderland”, described as “A holiday record for all souls.”
This free “Winter Wonderland” concert on Dec. 7 is part of a month-long holiday celebration at the LCCC. Mark your calendars for the LCCC Holiday Members Show Dec. 13 in the Chessman Gallery, “The Gift” featuring Kids Sing Out Dec. 13-15, “Christmas Unplugged with John Doan” on Dec. 17, and the Winter Revels on Dec. 22.
