An aerial kite ballet Wednesday that is likely to be repeated Thursday morning at the Nye Beach Turnaround courtesy of Archie and Jeanie Clay of Grants Pass.

Jeanie and Archie Clay are a very happily retired couple from Grants Pass who have devoted their retirement years to making people happy at the sight of their sky-candy hobby….kite trains.

Jeanie and Archie have made a stop in Newport to display only a small segment of their “Kite Fleet” that they keep at their Grants Pass home, but which is on the road like a traveling music band. But the music is in the sky and in the color of these incredible kite trains, as they’re called. If you missed it Wednesday please note that they’ll be back on Nye Beach at the turnaround starting at 8am Thursday. And if the wind is right, they’ll re-launch their Robert Brasington design kites. They’re made in Tasmania and they fly to please. And boy do they! Enjoy the video.
