The Dalles boy has been found safe. Amber Alert cancelled.
An Amber Alert has been cancelled for a The Dalles five year old boy who was abducted from his home early this morning after Brian Depriest, also of The Dalles, allegedly broke into the boy’s home and assaulted someone with a hammer. They boy was found safe later in the morning. Depriest is said to know the boy’s mother. Authorities say Depriest drove off with the boy in a stolen blue-green ’97 Chevy Cavalier.
Oregon State Police say Depriest is in custody. Police say the regular news media and the use of social media did a good job in spreading the alert far, deep and wide. More details to follow.
