A man and woman were transported to PCH after their Mitsubishi sedan high-speed rear-ender accident Monday morning on Highway 101.

Reports say that a Mitsubishi Galant was soundbound at high speed on 101 nearing Yaquina Lighthouse Drive when it slammed into the back of a pickup pulling a trailer with a small front loader aboard. Initial descriptions of the impact from witnesses was that the Galant bounce off and careened across all lanes of traffic and rolled over beyond the pavement, partially resting on NE 54th.

Both occupants, a 50 year old male and a 48 year old female were able to pull themselves out of their vehicle. Arriving paramedics determined their injuries to be minor and transported both to PCH.

Cause of the accident was preliminarily determined to be a medical issue of the driver. No one in the pickup was injured. Damage to the equipment appeared to be minimal.
