Siletz Valley Early College Academy teachers report that their food drive contest was won by the current senior class with 161 pounds of food. The sophomore class piled up 101 pounds and the freshman class came in third with 86 pounds. The food went directly to the Siletz Food Pantry for needy families.
For their performance, the senior class will enjoy a free pizza party.
Teachers say they’re conducting another food drive that will be running through the end of the current school quarter. Bins have been placed around Siletz as well as around the school. All students are encouraged to donate to this worthy cause. At the end of the quarter the school will be conducting another awards ceremony for good grades, attendance and the food drive.
