Original Mo’s and Mo’s Annex will host a “Dine Out for the Children” all day Today, November 15 in support of Lincoln County’s abused children.

This is an opportunity to enjoy great food on the Bay Front while supporting the Children’s Advocacy Center of Lincoln County. The Center is a day-use child abuse assessment and intervention facility for children who have been victims of abuse. Abuse may be physical, sexual, neglect, witness to violence and/or drug endangerment. Built to provide a neutral, safe, and child-friendly place to begin the healing of abuse, it was designed more like a home than an office, with the setting and décor especially chosen to create a calm and caring atmosphere for abuse victims. The Children’s Advocacy Center serves all residents of Lincoln County. Any child in the county, from birth to age 18, who is suspected of being abused, neglected or witnessed domestic violence, is eligible for services.

Assessment services include forensic interviews and medical evaluations. Intervention services include ongoing child and family support and advocacy, and mental health assessment and counseling. All services are offered at no cost to the family.

The Center recently began a sexual abuse prevention training program, “Stewards of Children” that educates adults to prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to child sexual abuse. “Stewards of Children” is designed for organizations and individuals that serve children and youth.

“Dine Out for the Children” – your support can make a big difference in these children’s lives!
