Project Homeless Connect Newport is gearing up to put on another event in Newport this October. They need volunteers to help make it an effective outreach effort so that homeless men, women and children connect with services from acquiring food, health care, medicines, clothing, temporary or permanent shelter, mental health counseling and registering for assistance that they may be qualified to receive.
The above video briefly outlines what volunteers do during this very important effort by the community to relieve the pain and suffering too many of our fellow residents are enduring due to the rapid onset of homelessness in a recession that may be over for some Americans, but not for millions of others.
