Chapter 8.10 Nuisances, Chapter 9.25 Intersection Safety, Chapter 9.70 Sidewalks
Property owners and renters along any street in the city have the responsibility to maintain the sidewalks in front of their property out to the curb. This includes repairing trip hazards greater than ¾ of an inch high, and replacing areas where the surface is broken up into small pieces. Vegetation, debris, litter, dirt, or any other condition that limits the width and safety of the sidewalk, should be removed. There should be 8 feet of vertical clearance straight above the sidewalk, free from vegetation, fences, walls, or structures. A clear vision area needs to be maintained on intersection corners and driveway access points: Any vegetation, fences, walls, or structures within 20 feet of the corner or access point should be no higher than 36 inches. The clear vision area includes the area within a triangle from the corner of an intersection and 20 feet back in each direction.Share on Facebook
