My Sisters’ Place: Announcing Volunteer Open House
Get a jump on your New Year’s Resolutions by learning what you can do to help our community. My Sisters’ Place is hosting its 2012 Volunteer Open House on January 19th, from 5:00 to 6:30pm. This will be the perfect opportunity for you to find the volunteer position that fits your interests and schedule.
My Sisters’ Place is a nonprofit organization that serves victims of domestic, sexual, and dating violence in Lincoln County. They are in a constant need for volunteers to occupy a variety of positions, ranging from help with fundraisers to property maintenance.
Of course, there are also many positions available to work directly with clients in need of services like shelter, advocacy, support group, and transportation. All the options will be explained in detail at the Volunteer Open House, to which everyone is invited. “If you’ve been looking for a volunteer opportunity, we’ve been looking for you!” said Caitlin Wilson, Volunteer Coordinator. “We can accommodate volunteers interested in all different levels of commitment, from one week a year to a weekly basis. So make good on your New Year’s Resolutions and come join us to see what it’s all about.”
So mark your calendars for January 19th, from 5:00 to 6:30pm, as the day you’ll be stopping by My Sisters’ Place office on 934 SW 8th St. in Newport. Along with volunteer opportunities, you will find a wealth of knowledge, snacks and refreshments, and likeminded peers! If you would like more information, please contact Caitlin at My Sisters’ Place, (541) 574-9424.
