Those caught drinking and driving, even for the first time in Oregon, may soon have to pay for the cost of installing and using an alcohol-detecting vehicle ignition locking device. Currently such devices are reserved for second or third time offenders. But the legislature appears poised to require them on the first DUII offense.

  1. Good! Clearly society has not spoken loudly enough that it’s not ok to drink then drive. I see the evidence of this in the police reports every week. It’s NOT OK, not even once, just don’t do it!
