Lisa Ann Hayner, DUI

The wife of Russell Hayner, accused of driving drunk March 18th and causing a fatal accident just north of Newport, has herself been arrested for drunk driving. Lisa Ann Hayner of Newport was spotted by witnesses inside a local grocery store as being quite drunk. A quick responding Newport Police officer spotted Hayner in the parking lot getting into her pick-up. Witnesses said they saw her drive up and watched her walk to her vehicle. The officer instructed Hayner to perform several field sobriety tests and she failed.

Hayner was taken into custody and was driven to the Lincoln County Jail and booked on charges of drunk driving. Her arrest report indicates her blood-alcohol level was .17, more than twice the level of presumed intoxication under Oregon law. Hayner is being held in lieu of $15,000 bail.

Hayner’s husband, Russell Hayner is being held in the same jail on a range of charges, including manslaughter and felony DUI, as he was driving drunk March 18th and caused a head-on crash with a van with a Tillamook family inside. The impact took the life of the couple’s three year old daughter who was strapped into her carseat behind her father. Her parents were treated for their injuries at PCH.

  1. Something tells me that these folks have a drinking problem – whether known or not its out of the bag now. Scarey thought – her husband killed a child last week and now she is arrested for a DUI as well…At least they arrested her before she could hurt someone. I wonder what their kids are dealing with now…

  2. I have no pity for boozers whom drive drunk!!!!! Maybe the kids need a btter home too!

  3. Incredible that a little over a week after this lady’s husband kills an innocent child from driving drunk that she would do the exact same thing. If the situation with her husband wasn’t enough to teach her a valuable lesson, what would it take at this point? It’s scary to think that either of them will be out driving again one day. I have no doubt that they will both drink and drive again. We really need stiffer punishment for drinking and driving. Such as; lose your license for life. Kill anyone while drinking and driving and be charged with murder.
